During the months of November through January, when the weather in Western Australia is extremely hot, a hand collection of sandalwood seeds is collected from our very own organic sandalwood plantation in Western Australia. After the seeds have been gathered, the upper layer, which is referred to as the husk, and the hard covering of the seed, which is referred to as the shell, are removed and processed accordingly to extract the nuts, which are referred to as the kernel, from the seeds.
Furthermore, the edible kernel of Australian Sandalwood nuts is an abundant source of both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, in addition to a high concentration of protein. Furthermore, these nuts include essential oils that are identical to those found in almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, walnuts, and pistachio nuts.
These nuts are also a good source of essential oils. In terms of texture, nuts are comparable to macadamia nuts; however, they are less delicious and contain less oil.
Other than being a wonderful source of dietary fibre, omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids that are necessary for a healthy lifestyle, nuts manufactured from Australian Sandalwood are also an excellent provider of these nutrients. There are a wide variety of therapeutic uses that are related to the heartwood of this plant. These applications include the manufacturing of cosmetics, oils, and perfumes, as well as drugs that possess curative capabilities.

Sandalwood and Native Plant Forestry is a company that is in the family industry and is run by the family. Located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, our very own sandalwood plantation has been around for quite some time. In addition to having the expertise to cultivate the sandalwood plantation, we are currently working towards the construction of a new small-scale business that will be based on the products that are harvested from the footwear plantation.
We have conducted surveys and research in the surrounding areas of the Wheatbelt in Western Australia, and we have observed native-grown Australian Sandalwood in the vicinity of the area. The land is a duplex soil type consisting of sandy loam over clay, which is an ideal environment for the cultivation of sandalwood.

There are around 350 millimetres of rainfall on an annual basis, which is sufficient for the cultivation of the host plants Acacia and Australian Sandalwood. For example, sandalwood is a root hemiparasite, which means that it uses specialised invasive organs called haustoria to take water and nutrients from its host, which is a variety of Acacia.
Since 2016, we have well-established Acacia acuminata (narrow phyllode), Acacia lasiocalyx, Acacia assimilis, and Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) over our property and in our plantation, which is well-maintained.
